Dr. María Castillo García has a degree in Medicine from the Ceu San Pablo University (2014) and specialized in Pulmonology at the University Hospital of Guadalajara (2021).
During her training, she furthered her studies in sleep pathology as well as in non-invasive mechanical ventilation at the Parc Tauli University Hospital in Sabadell, in the intermediate respiratory care unit.
She has also participated in several lines of research related to sleep pathology. She has been awarded the SEPAR 2019 scholarship and the SEPAR 2020 Award “For quality care and patient value” with her project Chronosleep and sports performance in children as principal investigator
She currently works at the Sleep Research Institute in Madrid, and at the University Hospital of Guadalajara, having extensively trained in the management of sleep disorders as well as the interpretation of sleep studies, with the ability to read Polygraphy and Polysomnography. She is doing her doctoral thesis based on sleep medicine and is a member of different scientific societies related to pulmonology and sleep pathology.
