Dr. Manvir Bhatia is a Senior Neurologist and Sleep Specialist with more than 25 years of experience. She is the Director of Neurology Sleep Centre, New Delhi. She is currently the Vice President of Indian society of Sleep research. She is the author of the book- “The Sleep Solution” first non-fiction book on sleep, in India.

He is an NHMRC Senior Principal Research Fellow and was previously a NHMRC Practitioner Fellow since 2002. Professor Grunstein is a staff specialist physician in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Dr. Lammers, neurologist, is the head of the Sleep-wake centre SEIN (Heemstede) and affiliated with the Leiden University Medical Centre. Lammers has been involved in sleep research for over 20 years, during which he has mainly focussed on narcolepsy. He is one of the founders of the European Narcolepsy Network, of which he currently also is president.

Prof L. de Lecea

Luis de Lecea obtained his PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Barcelona. He then moved to The Scripps Research Institute where he identified two neuropeptides with key functions in cortical excitability and sleep regulation: cortistatin and the hypocretins (Hcrts).
In the early 2000s Dr. de Lecea continued to decipher the role of Hcrt neurons on normal sleep/wake regulation and in brain reward function.

Prof. Teofilo L. Lee-Chiong Jr

Is a professor of medicine at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine. He has authored or edited 20 textbooks in sleep medicine and pulmonary medicine. In addition, he developed and serves as the consulting editor of Sleep Medicine Clinics, and is a member of the editorial board and reviewer of several medical journals and publications. He served as the chair of the Nosology Committee of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), vice-chair of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies LLC (APSS) Program Committee, and chair of both the Sleep Medicine NetWork and Sleep Institute Steering Committees of the American College of Chest Medicine (ACCP). He also has served on the Council of Governors for the ACCP. He is the recipient of the 2012 American Academy of Sleep Medicine Excellence in Education Award.

Prof. dr. med Manconi is the Head of the Service at the Sleep and Epilepsy Centre of the Neurocenter of Southern Switzerland, Lugano, Switzerland. Mauro Manconi earned his medical degree (1997) at the University of Bologna (Italy) with honour, discussing a thesis on Central Alveolar Hypoventilation. He completed his specialization in Neurology (2002) at the University of Ferrara (Italy) with honour, discussing a thesis on Restless Syndrome and Pregnancy. He defended his PhD in Sleep Medicine (2005) at the University of Bologna (Italy) with honour on REM Behaviour Disorder. For 10 years he served as clinical researcher at the Sleep Lab of Scientific Institute of San Raffaele, Milan (Italy).

Prof. Dr. Dirk Pevernagie

Dirk Pevernagie is a pulmonologist and ESRS certified somnologist who is currently working at the Ghent University and Ghent University Hospital. He obtained his PhD in Biomedical Sciences in 1994 with a thesis on ‘Body position and OSA’ based on research performed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, USA. He has served the Belgian Association for Sleep research and Sleep medicine (BASS) as president from 2000-2008. He has been a (founding) board member of the Dutch Society for Sleep Medicine (SVNL) from 2016 – 2019.

Prof. F. Provini

Dr. Provini’s main research activities focus on sleep medicine, including the characterization of movement disorders during sleep and the description of sleep features in neurological diseases (in particular neurodegenerative diseases). Using an integrated approach combining clinical observation and video-polysomnographic recording of electroencephalographic, motor and autonomic parameters during wake and sleep, she collected original data in different pathological conditions, such as Sleep-related hypermotor epilepsy (SHE), REM and NREM Parasomnias, Restless Legs Syndrome, Fatal Familial Insomnia, Morvan Syndrome and Delirium Tremens.

Dr. Dennis Rosen is a pediatric pulmonologist and sleep specialist at Boston Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. He received his M.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, in 1996, did a pediatric residency at Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot, Israel, and pediatric residency and a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at Boston Children’s Hospital.
